Even within the same production campaign, individual batches of CMC or PAC can exhibit slight variations in viscosity, DS, and moisture — due to small fluctuations in raw material quality, reaction conditions, or drying performance. The powder blender combines multiple batches into a homogeneous bulk lot, averaging out these variations to deliver consistent product quality to the customer.

For producers supplying food-grade, pharmaceutical-grade, or high-specification industrial CMC, the blending step is essential for meeting tight viscosity and purity tolerances across every delivery lot.

Key Design Features

  • Horizontal rotary drum design — a slowly rotating drum vessel (10 rpm) tumbles the powder bed to homogenize successive production batches, rather than an internal ribbon or screw agitator.
  • 4,000 L nominal / 2.4 m³ effective volume — reference configuration sized for a 0.3–0.6 loading coefficient, giving sufficient headspace for effective tumble-blending within the drum.
  • DN450 manhole and DN150 feed port — dedicated manhole access for inspection and cleaning, plus a DN150 feed connection sized to your upstream conveying system.
  • DN150 turbine worm-gear ball valve discharge — extended-handle discharge valve gives operators reliable, low-effort control over batch discharge from the drum.
  • 22 kW drive with geared reduction — motor and gear reducer combination drives the drum at a controlled 10 rpm, tumbling the powder gently enough to avoid generating additional fines.
  • Operates at atmospheric to slight positive pressure — vessel runs at ambient temperature and atmospheric or slightly elevated pressure, requiring no pressure vessel certification for standard duty.
