Styrene-butadiene latex powder for oil well cementing. Provides excellent anti gas channeling performance, near-zero free fluid, and right-angle thickening profile. Compatible with all standard oil well cements and additives.
This oil well cementing latex powder is manufactured from styrene-butadiene latex using emulsion polymerization, with butadiene, styrene, and related monomers as the primary raw materials. The resulting powder exhibits excellent chemical stability, mechanical stability, and outstanding anti gas channeling performance during cement slurry placement.
Supplied as a free-flowing powder, it is easy to blend on-site and is compatible with all standard API oil well cements and other cementing additives including retarders, fluid loss agents, and dispersants. Its near-zero free fluid and right-angle thickening behavior make it particularly suitable for gas migration control in primary cementing operations.

It controls gas channeling (gas migration) through the cement sheath as the slurry transitions from liquid to solid, which is critical in wells with high-pressure gas formations. It also improves zonal isolation and reduces free water in primary cementing operations.
Normal dosage is 3%–10% BWOS (by weight of slurry), adjusted based on gas migration risk and slurry design requirements. Thickening time and fluid loss testing under actual BHCT and pressure conditions is recommended before field application.
Yes — it has good salt tolerance, allowing use in saline formation environments and saturated saltwater cement slurry systems where conventional additives may fail.
Yes — it's compatible with all standard API oil well cements and other cementing additives including retarders, fluid loss agents, and dispersants, and can be combined with ZHAOYUAN's oil well cementing retarder to formulate complete slurry systems for specific well conditions.
Testing per API Spec 10A shows compressive strength of at least 14.0 MPa at 102°C, 21 MPa, over 24 hours, with fluid loss controlled to ≤100.0 ml under 80°C and 6.9 MPa test conditions over 30 minutes.
Blend dry with cement prior to mixing with water, or add to mix water as directed by slurry design, ensuring uniform dispersion. Store the 25 kg bags in a cool, dry environment away from moisture and physical damage, with a shelf life of 2 years from the manufacture date.
