The cotton opening machine must be operated together with the cellulose pulverizer, cyclone separator, pulse dust collector, and Fan 1 to form a complete cotton bale crushing and dust removal circuit.
This cotton opening machine is a core piece of pre-processing equipment developed specifically for the cellulose industry. Its primary function is to loosen and open compressed refined cotton bales into a uniform, low-density feed stream — significantly enhancing the throughput of the downstream cellulose pulverizer and reducing overall energy consumption in the cotton bale crushing circuit.
The machine has been deployed in more than 20 cellulose production enterprises across China. On-site operational data from these CMC and PAC production lines confirms stable continuous operation, high refined cotton processing productivity, and low energy consumption — making it one of the most field-proven cotton bale opening solutions available for cellulose ether manufacturing.
- Explosion-proof motor configuration: Main drive motor rated at 22 kW; conveyor belt motor at 1.5 kW. Both are dust-explosion-proof rated ExtDⅢBT130°C, designed for the high-dust environments inherent to cellulose cotton processing.
- Upstream throughput enhancement: By pre-opening compressed cotton bales before they reach the pulverizer, the machine eliminates feed irregularities that cause torque spikes, reducing wear and energy consumption across the entire crushing circuit.
- Optimised for continuous production: Component geometry, safety guards, and drive train components are validated through multi-dimensional testing to balance operational stability, core component service life, and maintenance accessibility.
- Integrated conveyor feed: Built-in conveyor belt (1.5 kW motor) provides controlled, metered feeding from the cotton bale stack into the opening rollers, reducing manual handling and supporting automated line operation.
- Flexible supply and installation: ZHAOYUAN can supply this unit as a standalone item, as part of a partial equipment package, or as the pre-processing stage of a complete turnkey CMC/PAC EPC project. Customised layout integration is available.

Capacity and dimensional data available on request. Custom configurations for non-standard production line layouts can be engineered.
The following startup order must be strictly observed to ensure safe operation and to prevent equipment damage or dust incidents:
- Activate the front-end dust removal pulse device. Verify air pressure is stable at 0.4 – 0.8 MPa.
- Start Fan 1. Allow the fan to reach stable operating speed before proceeding.
- Start the Cellulose Pulverizer (refined cotton crushing machine). Confirm normal operation.
- Start the Cotton Opening Machine (this unit).
- Start the feeding conveyor to commence normal material feeding and production.
| Part Name | Model / Specification | Notes |
